Getting Started

Getting Started in Mystic Survival (Season 1)

Welcome to Mystic Survival! As you embark on your journey, there are key things to know about getting started and exploring the wilds. When you first spawn, you will be greeted by the tutorial guide NPC, who will explain the primary features you'll encounter. If you ever need additional help, our wiki is available to guide you. This starter guide will help you settle in and understand the server's features.

Classes

We have a class-based system to enhance your survival experience. The available classes are:

  • Assassin

  • Archer

  • Mage

  • Warrior

There are also hidden, unique classes that can only be obtained by one player on the entire server. To unlock any class, you must complete the tutorial quest. Until this quest is completed, you will not be able to see or interact with other players within the spawn area.

The Tutorial Quest

The tutorial quest is designed to familiarize you with our custom quest system, which includes paths that can lead to different outcomes. For example:

  • Accepting a quest to hunt the Ender Dragon allows you to gather information about the dragon, making the fight easier by weakening it.

  • Skipping the information-gathering stage will result in a more challenging encounter.

When you first log into the server, your journey begins by speaking with the Tour Guide, William, located in the Tutorial House. William will provide an overview of the server and guide you to your next destination.

When Skipping the Tutorial, you're level will jump to Level 10 and you will be able to talk to the Class Master located near the "RTP Portal" to select your class. You will also start with 1 Guild Rep point rather than 10 Guild Rep points.

Tutorial Quest Progression:

  1. Stage 1: Speak with William to get your initial instructions.

  2. Stage 2: Proceed to the Tavern Owner, Bob, to gather materials for the tavern.

  3. Stage 3: Complete the tasks given by Bob and return the materials.

  4. Stage 4: Speak with the Guild Master of the Adventurer’s Guild, Bloominton. You will be tasked with defeating a weakened Skeletal Knight and retrieving the Commander’s Broken Great Sword.

  5. Final Stage: Speak with the Class Master near the RTP portal and leaderboards to select your class.

These Tutorial Quest Progression Stages are an example. The Guide on how to complete the Tutorial Quest will be located here. [Needs to Insert Link to Wiki Page]

The Lord of the Manor

The Lord of the Manor provides in-game guidance on claiming land and what you can do once you own land. Alternatively, you can consult our wiki for detailed instructions.

Market System

Our market system is straightforward and similar to any survival server, featuring a virtual shop for items. With 1,276 items available in the shop, you can use the /shop command to access the menu. However, participation is optional. Many players prefer using the GUI shop to generate capital while relying on the Auction House as the primary economic hub.

Other Shops

Various shops are scattered around the spawn area, including:

  • Armorer

  • Stable Master

  • Tavern

These shops sell custom items that you can use or resell on the Auction House. Their stock and prices may change over time, reflecting the community’s evolving economy.

Land Claiming

We have a user-friendly claiming system with a dedicated menu, making it easy for Java players to manage their land claims.

Questing

Our questing system offers a variety of quest types and is centered in the Adventurer's Guild Hall:

  • Daily Quests

  • Special Quests

  • Guild Master Quests

The Adventurer's Guild Hall is where most quests will begin, but other guilds also have class-specific quests based on your chosen class. For example, the Dark Guild offers quests tailored to assassins, thieves, and murderers. Players can place special assassination requests that only members of the Assassin Class can accept.

Additionally, quests like Chain Quests, Hidden Quests, and Custom Quests are unlocked by meeting specific conditions. These quests are not publicly listed, so players must explore or consult the Player Guides on the forums to discover them.

The Questing System is based on Reputation. If you don't have enough Reputation then you won't have access to certain quests.

Get ready to immerse yourself in the adventure of Mystic Survival, where your choices and exploration will shape your journey!

Player Ranks

Our server rewards players' dedication through a tiered ranking system based solely on the amount of playtime they accumulate. This system is distinct from staff roles and donation-based ranks, emphasizing fair progression for all players. Below are the ranks that players can achieve as they spend more time in our world:

Guest: This is the starting rank for all new players on the MysticHorizons server. Players are classified as Guests from the moment they join the server and continue in this rank until they have accumulated 20 hours of playtime.

Player: After reaching 20 hours of playtime, players are automatically promoted to the Player rank. This rank signifies a deeper engagement with the server and its community.

Member: The pinnacle of our playtime-based ranks, the Member status is granted after a player logs an additional 150 hours beyond the Player rank, totaling 170 hours on the server. This rank recognizes the most committed and experienced players within our community. Members are more favored for staff positions when applying, as total playtime is considered by the admins to gauge a player’s dedication and familiarity with our community and its norms.

Each rank up provides a sense of achievement and progression, encouraging players to immerse themselves more deeply into the MysticHorizons experience. Enjoy your journey through the ranks and perhaps, towards a future staff role!
